Our story
Japanese Taste was founded on a bedrock of appreciation and respect. We are passionate about discovering and sharing high-quality products, alongside enriching knowledge about diverse cultures.
Upon arriving to Japan for his studies, founder David launched a personal Instagram account to share the best of Japanese gastronomy and culture. The foundation of Japanese Taste is born.

Japanese Taste is formally established turning a community of 10,000 followers into a business and shipping its first international orders.

The flagship website, japanesetaste.com, is launched. The social community doubles to 20,000 followers and product range expands beyond food and cosmetics to include household and kitchenware.

To manage rapid growth, operations move to a new office and warehouse in Amagasaki City, a strategic logistics hub in the Kansai region of Japan.

Expandy Co., Ltd. is established as the parent company. The brand portfolio grows with the launch of Daitool, a dedicated site for professional Japanese tools.

The exclusive in-house brand, J Taste, is launched. To support global expansion, warehouse space is doubled and internal teams are scaled.

Main operations move to a larger fulfillment center and office. The year marks the official launch of a dedicated B2B platform and Daitool undergoes a full redesign to improve usability and performance.

Japanese Taste opens its first physical retail store in Kyoto. Creative production is brought in-house, strengthening our marketing team. The brand solidifies its position as a global ambassador for Japanese quality.
