J Taste Ceremonial Matcha Powder is renowned for its superior quality and is best enjoyed as a standalone beverage. To prepare a traditional matcha drink, follow these simple steps:
- Scoop a small amount of matcha powder into a chawan (traditional tea mug) or your preferred cup, using a chashaku (tea spoon) or small spoon.
- Pour about 2 ounces of hot water into the cup. Use a chasen (bamboo whisk) or frother to create a frothy consistency.

Started exploring matchas last year. I have tried over a dozen different high-end matchas from many sources even directly from Japan and historic tea companies like Ippodo.
I brew pretty traditionally, I preheat a Matcha bowl. Measure out just about 2 g. I sift that. Then I add 90 g of 197°F water. And then stir for a minute to 2 minutes. And I drink directly on the bowl. I do this one to two times a day.
This match is special. It has a deep vibrant green color. It slightly on the clumpy side, but it sifts very easily. I've noticed that if tea makers try to avoid clumpiness but over drying there tea you end up with too dry of Matcha and you lose some of the flavor and rich vibrant green color. Of course you don't want a big clumpy mess that sticks to your shifter nor do you wanna be wanting to pay for damp tea water weight. I think j taste is the perfect balance, which kind of describes this whole tea.
I started for 90 seconds and got a wonderful foam. I poured it into a clear glass so you can see the depth of the foam, but I normally just drink directly out of the bowl. Flavors this has a very rich warm rich green flavor without getting into that seaweed notes. A wonderful rich umami mouth feel. What is amazing it has all these flavors yet remains incredibly smooth. There is even a subtle hint of sweetness. And then the aftertaste is wonderful. There are no bitter notes. It's just warmth there. I even say a little bit of nuttiness.
