The mid layer of the 165mm blade is made of high carbon stainless clad steel and the outside layers with stainless steel.

I needed a new knife for everyday.I am not a chef. Or expert on kitchen knives. But I do the usual daily cooking . I read another review for this knife which was helpful and a deciding factor. I didn’t want a wooden handle like my other Japanese knife. This one is perfect.
It is very sharp, and I can cut veggies ,like tomatoes , very thin. It’s not too big of a handle or blade for my small hands. And has a good weight to it, but not heavy.
Great buy for the price. Recommend this knife.

I was lucky to find it in Tokyo at very convenient price, is a wonderful manufactured layered steel knife, is razor sharp and light, very reccomended.
