The blade is made from premium VG-10 Damascus steel, prized for its exceptional sharpness, edge retention, durability, and corrosion resistance. Its beautiful 33-layer Damascus pattern, created using traditional forging techniques, showcases distinctive flowing layers and a refined hammered finish that highlight the artistry of Japanese knifemaking.

Paired with an elegant mahogany handle, one of the world's most valued hardwoods, this knife offers both comfort and sophistication. Over time, the handle develops a deeper reddish-brown patina, enhancing its natural beauty with continued use.

Handcrafted by skilled artisans, each Damascus pattern is unique, making every knife a one-of-a-kind piece. Produced by Sakai Takayuki in Sakai, Osaka, Japan's historic center of blade making with over 600 years of knifemaking heritage, this gyuto combines traditional craftsmanship with modern high-performance steel.

    SO beautiful!

    This is the first time I have bought what to me is a really expensive knife! It is gorgeous and so sharp I cannot even believe it! It also cuts potatoes without them sticking to the blade!
